Kristie Burkett
Registered Clinical Counsellor
I understand that separation and divorce can be an emotionally challenging time for families. Navigating the legal system while prioritizing your child’s well-being can feel overwhelming, especially when a Section 211 Report or a Non-Evaluative Views of the Child Report has been recommended or ordered. My goal is to provide clarity and guidance throughout this process, ensuring you have the information you need to move forward with confidence.
My work focuses on family conflict, parenting, and high-conflict separation and divorce. My approach is child-centered and neutral, with a focus on gathering information that supports the best interests of the child. I have training in child custody assessments, high-conflict co-parenting, stepwise and non-evaluative child interviewing, and parental alienation.
I am qualified to complete full Section 211 Reports under the Family Law Act, as well as Non-Evaluative Views of the Child Reports. My professional background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. With over a decade of experience in the helping profession—including child protective services and mental health—I bring both expertise and compassion to my work with families.
